Hey again, friends!
Here’s a brand new song I just whipped up! This one’s called, Fall Potential. It’s about how rainy, cold, and crappy it is outside and how much life is still kicking ass regardless! Don’t let little things like the weather stop you from doing what you want to do! Live out your full potential this autumn!
Hello friends and lovers!
I would like to introduce you to a new song called, It’s All In The Hips. This song was created by my great friend, Chris Webb, at my home studio here in London Ontario. All instrumentation, awesomeness, and funk are all from Chris’ brain and fingertips. The only thing I did was mix and lightly produce the tune. Chris is one the most talented human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and I have a special pleasure in introducing you to the man, the music, and creative flow.
I hope that you enjoy the song and getting a visit inside of Chris’ head.
I’ve been recording a song for the past week entitled It Was The Sharks. This project was very interesting from the very beginning. It had me using the program Garageband, standard on all Mac computers and available on all iOS devices, for my very first time. As well it’s the first song I’ve written and recorded on my own. It was a very fun self experiment to take part in and I think it came together quite well. There are still a bunch of obvious errors and fixes needed, but I’m honestly too impatient and would rather record at Webber Studios instead of working on it for another week. So this is a good example of what one can do on their first use of Garageband. If you too own a Mac computer and have an interest in recording your ideas, I highly recommend you take the time to do so. It’s easy, fast, and the end result is convincing. Here it is… It Was The Sharks (Garageband Version).
Enjoy! (Try not to cringe too hard. A better version will be coming shortly.)
For now on I will no longer post scores on any of my reviews. I believe this will benefit all my readers (all four of you!) in great ways, and will help everyone who reads to find the best Music, Comics, and Games that are best for them.
This means that if I write about anything… You NEED to have it. Not will this only mean you wont have to waste ten minutes reading about something you wont like, but will also make the items I review more enjoyable for myself. So get yourself ready because come next review time… You better be prepared to have a good positive read!

P.S. I apologize for the lack of updates, I’ve been bogged down with work, band stuff, and moving to do anything much extra. There will be big news and reviews soon!!! Stay Tuned!!!
So this is a little update to another post I wrote a little while ago about a local comic shop here in London Ontario called ‘Heroes’. You can read my first post here (http://theendisnich.wordpress.com/2009/09/22/rant-local-comic-shop/).
Yesterday my girlfriend and I went to the local comic shop (Heroes)to look for a few titles that I kindly asked the owner of the store to order in for me. Those titles would be; The Sword TPB #1, Conan TPB #2, and Star Wars KOTOR #2. When I asked him about the lack of availability of the comics he was selling, he seemed very irritated. I’m no idiot, I can tell when someone just wants to get out a conversation they have no intention of being in. He did not want to talk to me. So I didn’t pressure him and was very kind in letting him know I have been waiting two months for him to order in one comic. He told me everything I was looking for should be in next week.
Now here we are, me and my wonderful girlfriend walking past all the downtown sketch-bags and wiggers to go pick-up some promised reading material. Get inside, walk straight to the Dark Horse/ Image stand to find that NOTHING that I had asked to get ordered was ordered. Now that was a huge slap to the face for me. I totally respect what ‘Heroes‘ is trying to do, but don’t bullshit me to my face. If you wont get them in soon, just tell me so. Don’t make yourself look like a complete ass-hat. I’m a very understanding and patient guy. Tell me that you have to make a minimum order and you wont be able to get it for another three weeks. If that’s the case, TELL ME!
This brings me to last night. I decided to take matters into my own hands and order all the comics that I need by other means other then ‘Heroes‘. So I visited my new best friends at ‘Amazon.ca‘. Here’s the kicker, Not only do they ship for free, but every single comic book they sell is HALF… PRICE… I look over at my bookcase and see ‘Locke & Key #1‘ Hardcover, for example, that Steph paid $35 for. I search it on Amazon.ca,$16… Now I look and see about forty comic books in total that we have spent about $900 on at ‘Heroes‘ , that would have only cost us $450 at Amazon.ca.
Not only do I get the comic books I want, when I want them, but I save 50% by NOT going to ‘Heroes‘. I will still go to ‘Heroes‘ to pick up my monthly issues, but I am never buying another comic book from ‘Heroes‘ ever again. I rally all of you, readers, to do the same. I will not let the lack of care, or love for the hobby by another person stop me from enjoying my comic books. There are millions of stories and experiences to be had with comics, and even more readers out there looking and trying to find their next favourite. This lack of care or lack of any trace of passion for comics pushes me beyond my limits. I am trying my hardest to sound as calm and as professional as I possibly can, but this is honestly the most personally insulting thing that has happened to me in a long time.
The only thing I can conclude from this is speak with your wallet. I am. I just made a $100 order on Amazon.ca that would have cost me $225 at ‘Heroes‘. That’s $225 they will never see from me, and possibly thousands more in the future, all because of one man. You are an independent business, you cannot afford to loose business like this. I want everyone who shops at ‘Heroes‘ and reads this to do the same. STOP! From now on save yourself time and money. Order from Amazon.ca. If you cannot, ask myself, I will help order the books for you. We are the readers and consumers. We have a choice. You have a choice. Let them know you wont be treated any less then the best. You, and I, deserve it.

Note: So I told myself I wouldn’t do this but I’ve decided that with my crazy work schedule and crazy life in general that I would start to post some more intimate, more ‘Bloggy’, posts. Here’s one that I just wrote on my facebook page. Enjoy the new content.
Lately I’ve found myself running around the local comic shop “Heroes Cards and Comics”. I’ve recently been introduced into the lovely world of comics by my wonderfully awesome girlfriend Stephanee. I’m now a full on addict.
I have some really good favourites like Conan The Barbarian, The Walking Dead, Nothlanders, Star Wars and many more. I have picked up on alot of series’ that Stephy has already taken the time to purchase but now I’m looking to start a collection of my own favourites. I go to “Heroes” at least twice a week minimum. Each time walking out with about at least $20 in material. Some days like yesterday, $100 worth of material.
Now here’s my rant…
I may be a new customer, but I am your customer. When I kindly ask you to order over $100 of comics for me to buy I expect you to see dollar signs your eyes and do everything in your power to get those comics to me on a timely basis. I know that you need to wait for delivery dates and such, aswell as other circumstances may arise, but I will understand. What I do not understand is how “Heroes” still doesn’t, for example, have more Conan TPB (Trade Paper Back) graphic novels restocked. The series is an eight part (I don’t know…) and I have been waiting for number two for about two months now. I’m no rocket scientist but if I owned a shop and I had numbers one through eight and one through five sold, I should get some more one through fives and think about ordering another round of six, seven, and eight because they might get sold soon enough. but no. Only three, five, and seven remain… for the last TWO weeks. Unacceptable. This is JUST Conan. The same problem remains with almost every single series I’ve purchased. Waiting on ‘Heroes’ to order them in.
I hope someone who reads this knows someone who works at ‘Heroes’ so you can direct them to this and hopefully they can get their shit together. I make good enough money that I can spend it on things that take me out of real life and for about two hours of the day I can become Conan, or I can be surviving a zombie apocalypse. When I want to enjoy myself the last thing I need is people’s lack of common knowledge keeping me from enjoying my life outside of work. If you don’t want your job, I’ll take it. I love comics and I know what kind of impact, no matter how small or big, can have on peoples lives. I know I may not know the ‘Ins-and-outs’ as well as you but I’ll be more then willing to listen and learn. I know I can do your job better then you at this moment. You just need to listen.
As far as it stands now you, ‘Heroes’, is on it’s last legs with me. I can easily now-a-days order the same comics online for LESS then your selling them. I buy them from you because I like supporting the locals and what you stand for. Now stand up for us and do your fucking job.
