Here’s a brand new one! This track is all about lifting you up. We get too hard on ourselves way too often and I hope this song can help you reflect upon what makes you great. How do you like to express yourself? Let it in so you can let it out. Make It Count.
After releasing my new CD, ‘MMXIII‘, I found that I’ve been neglecting my practice. So here’s the results of locking myself in the studio (it’s often the only way I can force myself to do anything productive, to force myself into it) for about 6 hours. I’m learning how to automate effects, effectively pan sounds, and layering frequencies for maximum feels. I hope you enjoy this little outing. Feel free to download it should you wish to hear it again another time.
We’re done recording vocals for the new Fire With Fire track, ‘Bucktooth’. Unlike the last track, ‘Tyrannosaurus Wreck‘, we’re mixing this tune ourselves so it’s going to be a little bit before we’re comfortable sharing it you guys. In the meantime we’d like to give you SOMETHING to chew on, so here’s a video of one of the TWO solos in the track. I hope you enjoy it!
Here’s that EP I promised to show you! Check out Major/Minor and pick up the record! It’s great songwriting and has a fun acoustic feel that I think you would enjoy. I had a lot of fun performing on it and I hope you have as much fun listening to it. Give it a stream and download it for any price you choose, even FREE!
I asked you guys for some input on Facebook to help me custom create a song. This one was inspired by a few things. The first being the request by my friend, Katie, to do something ‘Superhero’-y and ‘comical’. The second would be watching my cat, Yuna, try and fail so many times in one day. There was so much herp. So I combined classical elements with a whimsical and comical twist. I hope you get the visualization of your favourite animal in your life just being a silly all day while you listen along.
It’s a beautiful winter day here in London Ontario. A lot of people make a conscious choice to focus on what sucks in their environment instead of taking a few extra seconds to take it all in objectively. There’s a lot to hate about winter; no more brilliantly coloured plant life, wearing long sleeves all day, no more beach days, cars not starting, shovelling snow, freezing to death… But if we take a second to step back and appreciate what we do get that’s unique to our environment, there’s lots to enjoy.
This song was inspired by some of those things. Hot chocolate, freshly strung christmas lights, Yuna the cat comfortably asleep, and the crinkle sound of car tires packing down the new fallen snow.
Taking it all in I sat in front of my keyboard, looking out the window, and started moving my fingers. It made a short something, a short doodle. Download it. Play it. Hopefully it can help put you in the right head space to notice some of the great things as we make our way into the winter months.
Here’s a brand new orchestral piece entitled ‘Welcome‘. I’ve been working at this ever since I started fiddling with Logic Pro about six months ago and it’s officially time to let it out of the bag. To be completely honest, I’m not super happy with how it turned out. A big part of it has to do with the sheer amount of times I’ve had to listen to it over the past half of a year but the most important factor is that my brain six months ago writes themes and transitions in music way differently than my current brain. Instead of just deleting the song because of frustration and not letting anyone hear it, I thought I’d just put a cute bow on her and ship her out ‘as-is’.
Local homeboys Playing God have released their debut EP ‘Creation‘ that you can download for absolutely free!
Playing God is an instrumental trio of musical wizards who have put together an amazing first release that doesn’t fail to entertain. That’s what we all want in our music, isn’t it? Every track will shock and amaze you, especially if you possess musical knowledge, and will have you scratching your head wondering, “How on earth are they able to all keep up?!” The answer is simple, they fucking rock.
The drums are expertly crafted with extreme precision, the bass will fill your ear holes with some of the best and fullest sounds you’ve ever heard the instrument make, and the guitar fills everything together with constant smile inducing runs, tapping, and patterns.
There’s a lot going on in the 4 Tracks that Creation is touting and I can’t recommend this enough. Take the time to give this a download and put it on your phone, you’re life will be measurably better with these guys in your ears.
Here’s a music video for the Track ‘Serin’ that can give you a small rase of what’s on offer.

Mr. Webber, of Webber Studios, and I got to record our friend Aaron Barry last week. Aaron Barry is the vocalist and guitar player of Anu Beginning. When we first met Aaron to start with this song all we had to go on in regards to pre-production was an acoustic demo version Aaron recorded himself with just vocals and guitar. When we started recording we decided early on that we were going to pimp the shit out this tune. Here’s the final result with a few days in the hands of Mr. Webber.
