Here’s a song I got hired to record at Fanshawe College. When I got into the studio late that night I had no idea what the song was or even sounded like. I was then tasked with learning and writing all the drum parts in under half an hour. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!! I could feel the constant 16th in every riff of the song, so I really wanted to bring that out in my playing. I also wanted to add a nice bounce to it, that’s where I came up with using the double snare hits on beats 2&3 as a reoccurring theme. You’ll notice it changes with every movement of the song but there’s always a fast bouncy feel present. So give the song a listen through and pay close attention to the fun fills and bouncing. 😉 Enjoy!
