Here’s my first attempt at making a song for the specific purpose of moving your body along to it. It was inspired with the practice of Yoga in mind. My personal favourite aspect of Yoga is the slower more laid back style, so I created sounds to complement those movements. I love the calming feeling that purposely slowing down your body has on the rest of your inner systems. Slowing your breathing, slowing your heart rate, slowing your mind… It’s such an enjoyable state to be suspended in. If you’ve never had the chance to take a Yoga class, I highly recommend you add that to the very top of your to-do list. You’ll be glad you did!
To make this piece I used a synth pad (it took me forever to find one that felt right), meditation bells (high and low), a middle eastern drum, and just your regular run-of-the-mill kick drum. They blend together for this warm and cuddly soft piece of music I cleverly named ‘Yoga Intro’.
